I don't know what's going on here ... I was fine and the plug didn't appear
anywhere until I either installed the latest Tweakit or the improved display
property sheet dll ... No the damn logo persists. I've checked the registry
for entries and here's a part my autoexec.bat

I think the following line is your problem:
SET FX_GLIDE_NO_SPLASH=0
Try setting that to 1
I think that will make the logo go away.
