Screen shots I have seen of GPL always look better than those I can achieve on my machine. Is it because Voodoo 2 can not anti-liase, and the screen shots have been from machines that can? The steering wheel for example is jagged at the top, on my computer screen? I have a P2 450 with 256mb Ram, 2xDiamond Monster II 3dfx cards (12mb) running at a res of 1024 on a 21 inch monitor (both refresh rates at 100hz). Its only a small question, but I'm just curious. PJ

PJ, Those shots were quite probably taken while running on a Hercules Thriller 8meg AGP card. The Thriller uses the Rendition V2200 chipset and Rendition (vs. Glide or D3D) is _the_ native acceleration app of Papyrus. Of course the Rendition acceleration does support anti-aliasing. The other interesting thing about the V2200 chipset is how the architecture works, it doesn't have part of the memory for frame buffer, part for texture ala Voodoo2. The whole 8megs just plain churns away. The graphics on the Herc cards are not only prettier, they run at a faster framerate too <ggg.> You may well want to consider one if GPL is your thing. I suspect Papy will continue to support Rendition, so you could use it for a good long while. All the best, Mike -- Michael S.
