EA to Publish Sports Car GT

7 posts by 6 people · 20 Nov 1998 - 02 Dec 1998

Hi, I read this just now at avault. This title sounds like Pro Sports Car from ISI, but some elements also sound different. It also has a spring 1999 release data. (we'll just call it tentative!) Could EA be publishing another sports car game besides Pro Sports Car? and I thought sports car racing was in trouble! No, I think this is a different title. It says it's being produced by Westwood Pacific. Also it mentions over 45 cars and teams and I don't think PSCR has that many and that it's being made for PSX. This seems to be a game I heard about a couple months ago with IMSA cars or something. I'm not quite sure. Maybe they'll have the WSC series in the game. The name of Pro Sports Car Racing has been changed to Sports Car GT, and the release date has been pushed back to 1Q 99. C-ya.

I remember *** had 2 sports car game coming, one just for the PC (Professional Sports Car Racing) and another for PSX (Sports Car GT). Now both titles belong to EA. It might be that the 2nd Sports Car GT is gonna be out for PSX and PC now. Or they are renaming Professional Sports Car Racing to Sports Car GT, and releasing (PSCR) to the PC and the old Arcade Sports Car GT for the PSX. Either way I'm really confused on what the hell is EA doing. Arthur Stealth Racing http://www.***sys.com/stealthracing.html

This is indeed ISI's PSCR, now titled Sports Car GT. EA/Westwood is the publisher. ...gee, as if the REAL PSCR didn't have enough trouble with name recognition! =P Cheers! Marc

Marc, do you have any idea what the hold up is with this title? It seems to be taking forever to hit the market. -don "To race is to live, everything else is just waiting." - Rudi Caracciola
Hi Don, ISI had been targeting x-mas, but for reasons I'm not privy to they've moved it back a month or so. Cheers! Marc
