Does anybody know of any hand held game controllers with steering wheels available? I seem to remember seeing one at a local Software Etc. but I can't find it now. Thanks for any information. Brett
>Does anybody know of any hand held game controllers with steering wheels >available? I seem to remember seeing one at a local Software Etc. but I >can't find it now. Yes, yes, yes!!! It is made by InterAct Accessories (http://www.interact-acc.com/), and is called the UltraRacer PC. I have not seen them at ANY computer store, but a somewhat dependable source for them is your local Wal-Mart or Target. You should be able to find them for under twenty bucks. Get two. Personally, I love them to death. I don't have enough room for a wheel, and don't have the money for a desk AND a wheel, so I use these little gems. I have played Grand Prix Legends, F1 Racing Simulation, Viper Racing, Grand Prix 2, CART Precision Racing, Need for Speed III, and a few other poor racing games without a glitch, snap, or any setup trouble. The only thing you need to do is choose "Custom" in the Control Panel Game Controllers menu, and check the "...is a Race Car Controller" box. Have fun! I know you will! - John P. How does the UltraRacer handle analogue acceleration AND braking ? There can't be two triggers can there ? John
>How does the UltraRacer handle analogue acceleration >AND braking ? There can't be two triggers can there ? I have the PSX version...for Gran Turismo, of course. Yes, it has multiple triggers. One for braking, one for accel. There's even another one (at least on the PSX version), though I haven't found a use for it. Still, for PC games, I'd get a set of normal pedals.

No. Interact blew the Ultraracer for the PC. The only analog gas and brake is the trigger which you push forward for brake. It is very awkward and uncomfortable to use this way! I set the brake for button A when possible. (Is there a way to do this for GP2? - I haven't found it.) The PC Ultraracer should have at least one analog button on top (PSX version has two!) but as I said they blew it. The only buttons on top are A-D. Not all games will allow you to use a button for brake; but if you can, it's a good controller, as long as you don't mind locking the brakes all the time.:-)
