That's fine and dandy and all....but why is everyone being blinded by their
lust for Papyrus? It is *cheap* for Sierra/Papyrus to take the lame way out
and name them "chassis 1, 2, and 3". Yeah, we can download the real makes
on the net, but what about those without net access? Guys, I love Papy as
much as the rest of you all, but this is a very, VERY cheap impression that
Sierra/Papyrus has made on me. I can't believe that they would ship a
Nascar SIMULATION, without the car makes. That's 1980's ***there plain
and simple. I can't believe you guys would think otherwise. It is cheap.
Cheap. Cheap.
We as customers have shelled out Lord knows how much money to make
Nascar2 one of the best selling games of all time, and kept the game in or
near the list of top 10 games for the past 2 years. We've spent money on a
Busch Expansion Pack, some of have spent money on the "50th anniversary"
edition. (just a repacked N2 with GNS....and a fancy shiny box) Now most
of us are spending money on a "1999 edition" (just N2, GNS, and CTS.....and
a fancy, shiny new box). So most of us have loyally backed Papyrus and
their "repackaging" of the same game for the past two years.....and after
all of this loyalty, they go out and won't pay for the same licenses that
they owned in the first place!!!!! Come on guys, are we seriously
defending Sierra/Papy for leaving out car makes in the 1999 edition? How
about when N3 comes out that we have no car sponsorships, no track name, and
no car makes.....would we still defend Sierra/Papy?
We'd all be racing at the "Alabama Speedway" while driving the "Clip 'em
Lawn Service" car, which of course would be "Chassis #2". But of course, we
all still love the game to no end right? It's still the best damn
simulation ever made right?
Would computer sports gamers accept a sports game by EASports that didn't
have Real Teams and Real Players? Back in the 80's, they used to make games
like that and called the teams the "New York Apples" and the "Utah
Silver-Dollars", but that kind of stuff doesn't fly in the 90's.
Again, I love this sim as much as the rest of ya'll. And race it day
and night like the rest of ya'll. But I refuse to accept Sierra/Papy taking
the cheap way out. I take it as a shot to all of us, and to all of the
money we've spent, and to all the loyalty we've shown.
I kinda agree, only in that I/we should have paid MUCH less money for
this game if Papy didn't spend the money on the licenses. They shove
this "We will save alot of money if we don't add the licenses to the
game" BS down our throats, then turn around and STILL charge $45.00
for the damn game. For my $45.00, I want it all baby! No short cuts,
no skimping on anything. Well, I didn't get it...................
Of course, I will proceed to d/l the latest WC car set from the
internet. Kudos to you guys who do these cars.............You are the
ones that should get a cut of that $45.00 from Papy/$ierra, those
tight-asses.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking! I can't thank IWCCCARS enough for
their outstanding artisan work with ALL the series!! I'm planning on making
some kind of contribution to them soon.
I bought N1 a month or so after it came out. Then bought N2 the DAY it
came out. Then bought Nas50th several months after it came out (after
selling N2, it cost me $15). Bought N99 yesterday. I'll buy N3 the DAY it
comes out, too.
While I share in the disgust at them using "chassis 1, 2 and 3", as long
as they allow for as much expansion (custom cars) as they have, I'll
continue to support them. Don't forget, they just went through a MAJOR
shakeup and we're lucky N3 survived at ALL!!
Now, who has good locations for custom cars AND trucks?!

So what exactly is wrong with the chassis 1, 2, & 3? I thought it
was a good feature.

Nope. Manufacturer??? Right. It isn't like there are ford or chevy chassis
or something. They are just modified for downforce (more, neutral and less).
Doesn't seem like a big deal to me. In fact it seem like an improvement.

I have downloaded the CTS Trucks from Sim-Racing. How do I include them
into NR1999. The same goes for a set for Winston Cup and BGN. Can I
interchange Car files?
Tom
Onless the CTS trucks are made for NR 1999, the paint jobs are not going to
work right, due to the different layout of the paint shop.
The WC and BGN cars need to be unzipped to the /cars folder. Just make sure
you have no more than 128 cars or you won't be able to see them all....

I totally agree. I dont have N99 yet but I will and I think that the
people that make the cars that are doing it for free should get some
money and atleast spend some money on the cars at least...of so you dont
get a few tracks...oh well. Ie.Pocono but who cares. That makes me mad
that they dont even spend the money on the licenses for the cars.
My $.02
