GPL: A solution for PCI 128 owners

2 posts by 2 people · 13 Nov 1998 - 15 Nov 1998

If you play GPL with a Sound Blaster PCI128 you will have a very bad sound with some cars (Lotus, Eagle). In fact the sound seems too loud and there is a distortion. Since there is not yet a solution given by Sierra or Creative Labs I tried to find what was wrong and find that Cosworth sound was in 8 bits (others are 16) and with a very high output level (like the Ferrari one). I just modified these elements (no new sounds, just the original ones) and now it sounds better with the last drivers. Download these files at [link lost in import] -- ICQ # 21834897
Cyril, thanks a million :o), my PCI 128 sounds much better now :o). /Christer -- http://home4.swipnet.se/~w-41236/ (Read all about the "Global online racing"-proposal under "For developers". Read it a couple of times, cause noone has understood it the first time they've read it yet :o)).
