GPL is great, but I still enjoy F1RS. So I'm going to get
it's successor.
I understand the teams and drivers are fantasy, to be
replaced with the real things with user supplied updates, but
what are the tracks like?
I understand there is also a track editor, for the same
purpose I suppose.
I'm particularly interested Suzuka, as I've been following
the season. Is it represented in the box?
Thanks

Tracks are improved alot over F1RS. It was my biggest complaint (many track
innacuracies) but they are really updated. But you can also change about
every graphics on it easily (car, teams, sponsor, etc..) I would guess the
best place is still http://www.f1racingsim.com/ The tracks aren't still
perfect but they are really close to reality, probably more than any other
recent F1 sim (except GPL but it's a different deal).
There's no track editor. Maybe your confused with the "old vintage" track
that you find in it.
Yes... all the 1998 Formula 1 tracks are found in MonacoGP. Suzuka is really
better than in F1RS. "Gp2" quality ;-) (Suzuka was IMHO the best track in
accuracy in Gp2).

Suzuka is in the game.
MGPRS2 is much harder than F1RS. I thought I was a fairly good sim
racer with F1RS but, i was mistaken. MGPRS2 is more realistic,
another major improvement is that the curbings are alot more friendly.
You can pounce over them and It will not upset the car as much as it
does in F1RS.
Don't even think of using the same setups as F1RS. I tried Guy Cote's
setups, not only are they incompatible files they are not even close
to being stable if you manually enter them.
Never thought I would say this but I'm enjoying MGPRS2 more now than
GPL, around here that could be considered blasphemy.

John Wallace and others, have been telling us F1RS fans that
we're living in a fool's paradise. I don't doubt it, but it has
been fun.
I'll be interested in what he has to say about MGP2RS.
I depend on Guy Cote's setups. I believe he wastes a lot of
time eating, sleeping,*** with friends and working, or going
to school. Come on Guy, don't be so selfish. Stop thinking "What
do I want to do today?", and start thinging "What can I do for
Larry?" The answer is, do Suzuka for MGP2RS, then do Nurbring for
GPL. : )
You are a brave man.
Thanks
Larry

half and I need to get within a couple a seconds of the real guys - 36
seconds for qualifying - streuth, I'm way off that. And, yes, the F1RS
setups are hopeless for MGP.

Part of the texture editor gives you the tool to update the tracks to real
1997 tracks. It's included with MGPRS2. And works VERY handy.
Just wish there'd be an English patch for the sound-editor...
