Why isn't he featured with the BRM team in GPL? He did drive for them in
'67 didn't he??? And it's not like he's an unknown...

Why Jackie Stewart is missing from GPL
Posters asked why Jackie Stewart was not in GPL's BRM team, attributing it to licensing and comparing it to Jacques Villeneuve's absence from F1RS. The discussion moved to which 1967 drivers were still alive, Chris Amon's dairy farm in New Zealand, and Denny Hulme's fatal heart attack at Bathurst in 1992.
Automated summary.
I'm sure he had the opportunity and chose not to be a part of it. His
loss...

He probably wanted more money than Papyrus was willing or able to pay.

Consider JYS the "Driver X" of his day!
Martin
Nigel Mansell RIP!
Wouldn't be hard to put him in the driver.ini file, if you knew the history
well enough to be accurate in his abilities. (Which I don't.)

Maybe he refused to sell his name for the game, like Jacques
Villeneuve in F1RS ... That's something I hate :-(

And maybe it has to do with other licenses and contracts he already has
signed with other companies. It maybe that they are the ones that are
preventing his "likeness" from appearing in GPL. Jackie's got quite a
few irons in the fire.

shoot, i'll put him in mine and make him as sorry-assed as i can so i can laugh
at him every time i come up and lap him for not being a good sport and allowing
GPL to use his likeness.
is he the only guy that drove in 67 that is still alive? if not, have any of
the drivers commented on GPL at all?
Don't know about comments but, a few are still alive - Sir Jack Brabham, Dan
Gurney, and John Surtees all come immeidiately to mind. Hulme and Hill did
survive F1 Hill was killed in a plane crash and Hulme died of a heart attack
(while racing a saloon car I think) a year or so back.

I thought I saw Jack Brabham listed in the on-screen credits.

remember because I was watching the race on TV.

:) But it wouldn't work. Same as if you tried to contract some Mr.
Macdonald to use his name for your new burger chain. It would still be
some sort of copyright infringement.

yep, he's still around here in New Zealand. i think he's a
farmer now. i think he also consults for Toyota NZ. "Buy this
new Toyota Corolla with Chris Amon tuned suspension!" etc etc.

FYI, somewhere near Bulls. He's a dairy farmer. :)
Incidentally, Toyota NZ at one time claimed he was a F1 World Champion. I
recall ringign them and being told "whoops, but he is a champion in our eyes".

Hi Peter and others,
Denny Hulme suffered a fatal heart attack during the 1992 Bathurst
1000 race. His car pulled over and stopped beside the track, everyone
thought his car had suffered a mechanical failure, but when marshalls
got to the car he was dead. His harness hadn't even been unbuckled. At
least he died doing something he loved.
Sir Jack Brabham is still racing. He won his class at a race at
the Nurburgring recently driving a turbocharged Volkswagen Beetle.I'm
not sure if it was a touring car race or some sort of GT race.He is
about 72 years of age!!
I would love to see him try GPL and hear his comments.

Who's going to tell him. There is no Santa Claus, tooth fairy
or Ronald Mc Donald. The guy in the ads is just a warning to all that
he's what you'll look like after a triple Big Mac and flies every day.

Yes it would work. Have you seen The Best Buy commercials where they
got some guy named Bill Gates (a different one of course) as their new
spokesman for computers.?
