gpl...why can't you save during a race

I know its not completely realistic to be able to save during a race, but I think GPL really needs. Maybe I'm being stupid but I can't find a way to do it/ I can save a race weekend, but I seem to have to do an entire race in one go. Did they think that everyone who plays this game has enough time to be able to do a two hour race in one go?

I think Papyrus copped out as they couldn't spend the time to implement a save race feature to suit their exacting criteria and still make the release schedule. I know that the purists think it's a bad idea, but as it is, it sure would have come in handy last night. I was working on a full length race at Monza and only had 18 laps to go and for some unkown reason my wife hadn't scheduled dinner for an approriate time. At least she indulges me my GPL indulgence. We even watched Grand Prix together, but then she used to hang about with Sterlin Moss. -- **************************** Michael E. There was no race-save in Nascar-II, but they implemented one later (kinda crude but it works). Hopefully they will add it for GPL, as it surely needs one(!). Wouldn't the pause key suffice in this instance?

If you don't need it, you don't have to use it. I'd like to do full length races, but I seldom have the time available to do it in one sitting... Usually 40-50 minutes here and there... -- http://www.users.fast.net/~fusion1 http://www.off-road.com/~fusion1 (dirt bikes, rat bikes, rental car abuse...)

Maybe, but not for all interruptions. It's easy to imagine a lot of situations where you'd prefer to save the game and come back later to finish it, because you never know when something could happen like your 3-year old toddler comes over and pushes the Power button on your system. Goodbye, paused GPL race. ============================ Dave Mack (remove "nospamfor_" for correspondence)

So that you can save in the middle of a race interupted by....... And have enduros over the net where drivers transfer saves to each other to pick up where the other left off. It needs to be done in a way that does not encourage cheating in leagues though. -- Byron Forbes Captain of Team Lightning Bolt http://members.tripod.com/~HOSHUMUNGUS and http://www.frontiernet.net/~godsoe/bolt/home.htm
