Hi there!
I got problems running Nascar 2 with Voodoo 2: I get a flickering screen.
Parts of the screen are only updated when I move the mouse over them. Didn't
have any problems with my old 3Dfx V1 card. Reinstalling the game didn't
help eiher. HELP!
Jeroen
Make sure you have 'Force triple color buffering for Glide apps'
disabled in the Voodoo2 display control panel.

Your problem might be is that the patch doesn't support Voodoo2. That I
know of it's only Voodoo1 and Rush cards.
-Jim
Sure it does! I'm using the NASCAR 2 3Dfx patch with my Righteous Voodoo 2
card and it works perfectly!

buying a $40 V2200 card to see it in action. Much better visuals than the
3DFX beta patch. As for GPL, I was lucky enough to score an alpha cd at E3
in June. They've added a few tracks, improved the AI and put in music since
then. I can tell you it's by far the most realistic racer ever, and damn
tough to master. And while I know it's an unpopular opinion to express in
this forum, I prefer the brighter colors and sharper images of the Rendition
version. But the 3DFX version is very nice. The only complaint I have is
that you really have a hard time keeping these rockets on the road -- though
the***pit camera views when you somersault through the air are almost
worth crashing to see.

Wrong - Nascar Racing 99 is N2 with new tracks, modified tracks,
Craftsman Trucks, small improvements in the *existing* N2 physics engine,
and other improvements in the sim.
Nascar 2000 (not the same as Nascar Racing 99) has the GPL physics engine
in it.
It won't be "awsome", but it'll hold us over until Nascar 2000 is
available sometime next year.
Wrong again. It's a DOS app (still) with a (hopefully improved) 3dfx-
specific version on the CD.

You may not like this, but it's a fact that the Rendition versions of Nascar
2 and GPL look better and run smoother than the Glide versions. (I have the
alpha and release candidate versions of GPL running in a system with both a
Rendition V2200 and a 12-meg V2 -- a terrific game, I plan to buy it the day
it's released.) I can't speak for Nascar 99, but I hope you're right. The
current N2 Glide Beta is not very good.
