Hi all,
I just want to remind you that the version of DirectX 6 is a BETA.
Especially for Windows 98 users THERE IS NO NEED to install it, unless a)
the final version is out AND b) there is a game that can't do without it.
Again, wait and keep your 5.x versions, as there is NO vivid improvement
(for now). As the current version cannot be uninstalled, this could really
put you into trouble.

You can download the final version of DirectX 6 from the Microsoft website. If
you have Win98, be sure to install the "core" version of DirectX 6.

If you take F1RS into account you see a huge difference. And I have absolutely
no problem with Version 6.

No problems at all with Win98, using Windows Update to install it. No
performance improvements, but nothing detrimental, either.

I have problems with it - it locks up TOCA badly!

You'd be in the minority then... I have it at home and work and all DX6 stuff
(including TOCA) works fine.
