3Dfx!!!! >which is better 3dfx or Rendition?
Rendition cards are cheaper, looking just as good, but can't give you framerates above 50... Anyway, the rendition cards are much less CPU dependant than 3dfx, so if your puter isn't a PII, you're best off with a rendition card! Anyway, who's needing framerates of 50 or more? The eye can't tell the difference between 30 and 40, but the eye can tell the difference between anti aliasing and not... In short you don't need framerates of 50, you need visual quality, and the rendition cards are arguably the best there is... It will work nicely with GPL as well... ;-) ---Asgeir--- > which is better 3dfx or Rendition?

A P2 is only really needed for a Voodoo2. I have had 3dfx cards in a P100, 166, a P2 266 and now a P2 333 and they're all worth it. I wouldn't recommend the rendition cards as they are pretty much dead with regards to support outside Sierra games. M
