GPL Monza on my site... update

Hosting and installing the GPL Monza track files

doktorB posted the GPL Monza track files on his site and to a binaries group, with install instructions requiring Watkins Glen to be moved out of the tracks folder. Users thanked him, fixed install problems, and confirmed Monza had no banking. He also promoted a petition to save Monza from closure.

I am just uploading the file as I write this.. I've got 8 minutes left in the upload, and hopefully everything goes okay.. I will post here as soon as it is up.. I know we all want it now, but please don't clog my server.. just wait till 10 minutes past (whatever timezone you're in)!! keeping my fingers crossed.. lets hope it goes well.. p.s.: Ed, post it on your site too (will ease web traffic on my end), but please mention the monza campaign (see my site).. *** I will post web web address as soon as it is up and working ** (ten minutes from now, hopefully) d.b.

Make sure the ONLY directory or file in the "Tracks" folder is the one that says "Monza".. Are you running windows 98?? If so, did the demo work for you with the Glen?? Other than that, I have no clue.. worked fine for me. let me know, d.b. >After downloading the track...and following the directions to the letter >(moved WatGlen dir, created monza dir in /tracks, unzip) it still crashes the

>After downloading the track...and following the directions to the letter >(moved WatGlen dir, created monza dir in /tracks, unzip) it still crashes the >demo after loading the first screen......any ideas? It worked first time for me - no problems at all. Now if I only could work out how to get through that damn Parabolica without spinning....... After about an hour, I've only managed to complete one lap without hitting anything <g>. I'd forgotten just how ***y *difficult* GPL actually is! (1:38 something, for what its worth). KD

i have exceedingly large italian ***. i also am screwing off at work. i figured that i would try the monza track here. i have downloaded the GPL demo from papy and cannot get it to run after installation. anybody out there have any ideas? my system is: P166-32RAM with NO 3D video card the video options during installation are "from disk(?)", "3Dfx", or "rendition". obviously, i chose the "from disk" option. nope. it is asking for "DINPUT.DLL". i do not have a joystick on this system. kinda hard to explain THAT one to the boss, eh? am i just hosed because of no 3D card? thanks, j

Unzipped, the Monza.dat file is 4,927KB.. I know from *experience* that the files are different to the "beta" track files. doktorB http://webhome.idirect.com/~drbryan/gpl >> I am just uploading the file as I write this.. >Quick question...How big is the Monza.dat file (kb-unzipped)? Fraid not, never will in GPL either :( (unless of course some die hard hack0r makes a track editor :)
No....no banking. The banking was not used in the 3-litre era. It was last used for a GP in the 1.5-litre period. Papyrus, thank God, have remained true to history and have not included it. > I"ve GOT to know...........does it have the banks? > Brandon -- Regards, Bruce. ---------- The GP Legends Historic Motor Racing Club is located at:- http://www.netspeed.com.au/brucek/legends/
