I'll be up there on August 3rd. If you're still there maybe we could hook up and go head to head... This will be the one thing I *have* to do when I'm in MN - besides catch a bunch of Northern Pike ;) Devon

They have a Silicon Speedway Nascar simulation on the 3rd floor by Macys. It is will cost $7.50 to drive and $2.50 for your passenger. I bring along my son to ride with me, it's quite fun. Alan Pajari

Tim & Devon, Silicon Speedway is a MUST DO! There are 20(+) 1/2 scale sit-in, real seat/guages/shifter/gas/brake/clutch (you choose auto or manual, [insider tip: the manual is faster & when doing the stupid standing start, you can dump the clutch in 2nd & really get a jump on the pack ;-)] PLUS AI cars, that behave very badly (some are fast & not afraid to rub!). The physics engine is much more precise & GPL-like than N2. It is VERY easy to over power the car & have the ass-end come around, especially at Richmond. C***te is probably the track you'll run at tho. The setup is a little tight & gets pushy coming off the corners, but it's generically (sp??) easier to drive. Plan on doing it 2 or 3 times at least, you'll just be getting the hang of it by then, and probably just be getting over the feeling of wanting to puke from the motion of the cars :-). E-mail me any add'l q's. Happy Lappin', Wade Tschida

Another tip, check in when you first get to Mall of America because they will probably be busy but you can get a reserved time then. Then go do your shopping, lunch...whatever. Don't expect to get right in, especially on the weekends. I have been there early in the day on a weekday though when they gave me a 3 rides for the price of 2. Love it! Jim Ekwall

Just another quick followup. They also have this Silicon Motor Speedway at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL. Dale Earnhardt did the grand opening a few weeks back.
