"Grand Prix" movie on European TNT Friday 24th July - 11pm UK, 10pm CET

Something to whet your appetite for GPL (as if we aren't all salivating enough waiting for it !). "Grand Prix" will be shown on European TNT at 11pm UK time / 10pm CET this coming Friday (24th July). Unfortunately, I don't think it's the letterbox (widescreen) version, but you can't have everything, eh ? For those who haven't come across "Grand Prix" before, it stars James Garner and Yves Montand and follows the trials and tribulations of a season of Formula 1 racing in the mid-1960's (the movie dates from 1966, but I can't remember which season it depicts). Despite the trite plot and turgid acting, it contains some of the best motor racing footage ever seen in a movie, filmed, as I remember, using real F1 drivers of the era. It's well worth a viewing for the breathtaking footage of Monaco alone. *************************************************************************** * Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so... * Glenn Davies * ***************************************************************************

wrote... Excellent! Hopefully it will be on TNT in the States as well. Here's a couple others to look forward to: There is a 2 part episode of Legends of Motorsport (Speedvision) titled "Nine Days in Summer." This program chronicles the Cosworth engine from Zandvoort to the end of the 1967 season - including some spectacular film from Spa, and there is footage from the Glen. Mark down Monday September 14th at 6pm eastern and if you miss it - the show re-airs that night (technically the 15th) at 3:30am for part 1. Part 2 airs the next day (9/15) at the same times. It is Legends of Motorsport episodes 36 and 37. Also there is a great film called "The Ringmasters" and it is a documentary of the 1967 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. That stuff is pretty awesome too - Clark, Gurney, Hulme, and see if you recognize a very young David Hobbs. "The Ringmasters" is Legends of Motorsport episode # 44 and it airs next on Thursday September 24 at 6pm and then again at 3:30am. Devon

If you're referring to the "other" listings that I posted, no. They will be on Speedvision. Go to http://www.speedvision.com/MH/svinfo.html for information. Devon
