NASCAR2 help ??

Hi. does any one know how to get a decent setup for NASCAR 2?. Most circuits I cannot make my tyres last ie talladega my tyres only last about 18-25 laps where the rest of the field last more than 35. And I always have to much understeer,my outside tyres cook and my inside tyres never go over about 150 degrees I have had this game nearly 2 years and still I am unable to get a decent setup. any help greatfully appreciated

Sounds like you are using a game pad to drive with.
