I'm thinking of buying a new computer. What would be the best system
regarding GP2?
What processor, RAM, video, etc etc?

Wait a couple of years
For GP2:
* THE fastest processor/motherboard combination you can afford - GP2 is
processor intensive
* At least 32mb RAM for full speed.
* Video - doesn't matter, a generic card is only a fracion slower than the
super-quick varieties
'cause GP2 gains little or no benefit from Video acceleration. Remember
that this situation will
change when/if GP3 appears.

Not a Compaq Presario 1220--unless someone can provide an answer to my
previous post!

GP2 only uses the first 8MB of RAM (I heard somewhere) so in theory if this
machine is purely for GP2, you might as well buy it with only 8MB of ram :)

I use a Pentium 200 MMX, Matrox Millennium 2, Diamond Monster 3dfx and 32 MB.
F1RS + GP2 work just fine on this system.
I only had to switch of the sky texture in GP2 (who needs it anyway)
