Here's a sample email I sent them that you might want to use
(suubstituting Disney or whomever for Fox where appropriate):
I'm writing to tell you I'm extremely disappointed that Fox is
supporting only the DIVX format for digital movies. I will never
purchase a DIVX player or any DIVX movies under any circumstances, as
I feel the whole system is a blatant rip off and money grab. As long
os Fox goes with DIVX, there will be no Fox movies purchased in my
home.

Precisely. The morons good have had DVD basuically replace the whole
video industry by the end of this year, but no one's going to buy DVD
now either becuase half the studios aren't supporting it. The
inevitable result? The whole digital movie industry will be held back
for at least another 2-3 years. Amazing how self-destructive lawyers
and accountants can be when given a free hand.
An MBA, most likely. The old "Hey, look how much profit there will be
if we don't bother with supplying quality" idiocy.
Believe it or not, there are people in this industry stupid enough to
think that's going to happen too.

From http://techzone.weezy.com/dvd-faq.htm ...
"The system was invented by the Hollywood law firm of Ziffren, Brittenham,
Branca & Fischer. They think you should pay to watch movies EVERY TIME you view
them, even when you are at home. Thats right, lawyers invented this amazing
new bad technology. Imagine that."
Ever been to a video arcade? ;) I understand your point and agree with it
though. I would never ever buy a "pay per play" PC CD-ROM, nor will I buy DIVX.

I read yesterday that Paramount is going to enter the DVD market... the link is
at www.bluesnews.com I think (a *** page but he is supporting the No DIVX Day
thing)

Cool ... maybe DIVx will crumble faster than I expected. I hope so.
Joe
You've given some leech an idea. It'll probably require a continuous ISDN
connection for single player, too.
