This is probably the most stupid question, but here goes:
I noticed that my T2 is a little loose around centre, and so I opened it up
with the aim of tightening the bungee. But HOW THE HECK DO I LOOSEN THOSE
LITTLE WHITE TIES? I tried for twenty minutes, with no luck. I feel like an
idiot! What's the trick to loosening them, so that I can pull more bungee
through, then tighten them back up?

Those are Tie wraps; You'll have to cut them to get more bungee through. go
by your local hardware store and pick you up a bundle before you cut those off
you'll need a couple to replace them.

You can't loosen up the LITTLE WHITE TIES (wire ties). Go down to your
local Radio Shack or hardware store and buy a pack of small ones ( probably
less than $1.00). Then you have to cut off the ones that are on the wheel,
pull the cord a little tighter and install the new ones....
