Look for all you people who have complained that GPL is not an accurate sim
of what Gp cars were like in 1967, JUST PLAY THE GAME. It's only a game, its
incredible fun. If there is ONE person round here that has actually DRIVEN a
1967 GP car on a 1967 circuit and they say GPL is nothing like it then fine.
But for me and many others it's a very rewarding challenge. It's not easy,
in fact it's ***y hard but it's only a limited demo. I for one have only
after 10 days hard playing am actually turning in resonable lap times in the
GP car consistently.
Andy,
Well put. Besides... I think most of the whining is being done by individuals
who are spoiled by the easy of driving the sims on the market currently. From
someone who has racing experience..... GPL has a physics engine that is simply
incredible. NO.. I have not driven a GP car from the 60's =) (I wish)... but
I have driven a NASCAR Modified, SCCA Sport 2000, Spec Racer, GT-1 that was a
former TA car, and a few laps in a Formula Atlantic. Although I havent driven
in a few years and put on weight (cant fit in a Formula car anymore LOL),
driving a car with THAT much HP and no aerodynamics is no easy task. Also
remember that this demo is exactly that, a DEMO and once you get the full
version (if you do buy it) and can adjust the car,etc... you will see how great
this sim is going to be.
For the rest.... stick to the arcade games I guess. I cant wait for NASCAR 3
with this type of physics engine <VBG>

Take a look at Ubisoft's F1RS if you're looking for an excellent Formula
One simulator. It is playable on the net-- with Kali. There are plenty of
European players racing; but we need more US players, which will give me
and the rest of us better pings for racing.
