If they don't fix the bug for the Stealth II S220 then it SUCKS BIG TIME!!! It's rediculous
I get it-- since the game doesn't work with your archaic video card then the game is no good for anyone. Try getting another video card. With my Mystique 220 (8 meg) and my Monster 3D, F1RS runs as smooth as smooth. I'm enjoying the game emensely. Alanb

Amen to that, anyone that doesn't own a 3DFX card and hasn't seriously considered buying one is just plain stupid. Almost every good game now will run superbly on that damn card, why even try on anything else? And with the VooDoo2 out, first gen VooDoo cards are dirt cheap. DIRT CHEAP!!!! Why wait?
Prodi 11 Apr 1998#404024
Ok great do you have money to give me so I can by the Voodoo card? I am sure it is not too difficult for them to make up a patch for the stealth II s220.

Craig Marcho wrote It's funny how you can say something about people, based and judged on buying a little piece of hardware who is in a machine called a "computer". So for you, 99.99999999% of the world population is stupid. Whoa, I think we found a bigger ego-centric person than myself. Oh well, another representation on how the reality is. I am a student and that still isn't damn cheap for me. Sorry.

Well I don't have a Voodoo ...YET...:) but can the 1st gen 3dfx run gpl at 800x600 with AA?? dave henrie

A lot of people are stating that a Rendition 2100/2200 chip will make GPL look better due to it's hardware antialiasing and slightly better (visually) filtering.

Maybe better than a Voodoo1, but I doubt the Voodoo2. Marc. -------- To replay via e-mail, remove "spam." from the beginning of my e-mail address (Tyring to avoid junk mail)

I'll still bet the visual quality is better on a Rendition card...the Voodoo is still weaker there.May not get the framerate, though. That's 3Dfx's best feature.
Sean Graha 13 Apr 1998#404521
The 3DFX 2 chipset does all of that and more at a better framerate. The Papyrus programmers seem to be excellent at programming for the Rendition chipset, but they leave a lot to be desired with 3DFX. Now I don't want to start any *** theories, but I hope this isn't intentional, since they were one of the first to jump on the Rendition bandwagon.

The Verite 2x00 allows Anti-Aliasing, something the 3DFX Voodoo does nto support. I own a Voodoo2 card, which I bought for Glide support. But I run GPL on the Stealth II (my other card) as it looks a *hell* of a lot better. Jeff
YAK HERD 07 May 1998#407767
WRONE WRONG WRONG. Anti-Aliasing makes a world of difference. The best bet is to get a Stealth II with a Voodoo card. That way, when a game comes out that actually supports Rendition you will be able to enjoy the higher quality of a Rendition based card. Trust me, I own both.
Rouge Joh 07 May 1998#407768
Jeff, How right you are! The S220/M3D is the best cost effective combo going!!! I enjoy switching back and forth with Forsaken Demo, d3d games, etc. N2 and GPL have subtle differences. Tried every tweak setting on both for comparison. What fun for the money! ,John
