Hi.... according to the help file in gpl, any replays that have been
saved are stored in the sierra/gpldemo/program/replay directory, but
even though I have saved a few replays, I cannot see anything in this
directory? NB: even though the game *does* let me watch
the replays that I have saved!!! So the replays are obviously stored
somewhere else? Does anyone know where the replay files are stored
please? (I have looked but have not found them?)
I have also d/l'd a replay from the net (which unzipped as a *.rpy
file) I then placed the file in the replay directory to watch it, but
on entering the demo that particular replay is not available?
I presume the help file is wrong and the files are stored elsewhere?
Any help would be appreciated in using all the features in this great
sim demo.
BTW, My quickest so far is only a lowly 1:15 in the GP car (how the
hell do those quick guys do it?)

Try clicking on "find" in the start menu on win95, then file or folders,
then type in *.rpy. It should find all .rpy files you have on your hard
drive, and you can see where they are stored.

I've already tried this but nothing comes back (except the *.rpy file
I d/l'd from the net!) I therefore assume the replays I have saved
are saved as something else, and not *.rpy files?
Has anybody else had any success in replaying someone elses files?
If so, how?

There are two versions of GPL Demo installed on your hard drive. It is very
possible that you are launching from the other version which might explain
your problem. I think the other version is installed into windows/temp
Try looking there. As a last resort use the windows FIND command in the
start menu and look for *.rpy and make sure the search sub directories box
is checked. That will tell you where all the .rpy files are!
Thanks

I got a bit confused till I tried using the "view replay" bit from the
main menu rather than the in game recorder section. Not sure about my own
replays (haven't done anything worth watching :-) but I certainly found
stuff I'd DLed and put in my replay folder.
