Is this supposed to happen? (I get a screen that looks like
a TV not tuned to any station after a big wreck). Is this a
feature to simulate unconsciousness (or worse!) or is this a
bug/problem with my hardware? (Voodoo, P133).
PS. I can <esc> to the menu screen with no problem after
this happens, then restart the race.
Yep, you just need to press Shift-R to right yourself on the track
again.

Not a problem. Found out about it after careening of the track at top
speed.....cartwheeling about 4 times and coming to rest upside-down with
the car perched on where my head was ( supposed to be )....most likely
a fatal incident .

Hmm..got me thinking. After the few hours I've spent having a great
time, I must have gotten myself killed at least 15 times...How will the
damage be modelled? I mean, in those days, if you had a biggie, you were
*very* lucky if you came away mangled for life. Will a tad of seriousness
be added? If you wreck monumentally, will you be able to continue a
champ. season?
Or will your computer explode?:)

I thought it's suppposed to simulate the "in-car" camera being knocked
out.

a "simulated death/injury", since it only happens in the more, um,
flamboyant crashes. I don't know for sure, just my opinion.
It's certainly telling us something, and whatever it is I'd guess it's
in the "not good news" category. :-)
Cheers!

When i look at a picture of the cars back then i see that the driver's
head is usually marginally higher than the roll bar - is this dangerous
or what? are they asking to be decapitated? but anyway, i figure the
static appears when the car is upsidedown and resting on teh rollbar,
but the viewpoint which is in the driver's head position is therefore
slightly in the ground, so it's an easy way out of trying to think up
something useful to display when the viewpoint is below the ground:)
of course, trying to drive with your head between the car and the road
isn't good technique so i would hope people don't see this static too
frequently!:)
