OGR has just released the GPL DEMO!!!
Read all about it at The APEX - GPL HQ [link lost in import]
The APEX - GPL HQ also has a driving guide to get you up to speed quick.
There will also be a contest for the fastest lap replay, the best crash
replay, and the most amazing save from a spin replay!
Thanks
John
Downloading it now! I thought that while I was taking the day off, I might get
the jump on the rest of you! HA! Everyone and his little brother must be logged
on to this download.
I think there will be a run on Formula 1 history books this week at Borders!
May I suggest " Portraits of the 60's - Formula 1 " by Ranier Schlegelmilch.
I guess I'll watch the replay of the LBGP this morning. I don't know how the TV
coverage was, but there at the track, I thought it was the most exciting race
I've seen in many years at The Beach. The entire crowd could see it coming, for
the last 20 laps they roared as Bryan and the Z man raced through Turns 1-2-3.
With 4 to go, Alex began the most perfect setup job in motorsports. Each time
through Turn 2, Alex faked to the outside with Bryan moving left to block. As
they roared through 2 on the next to last lap, Bryan moved left to block as
before and Alessandro drove right past in a place EVERYONE, says is impossible
to pass. This is the stuff of legands!
I'll bet we'll all be racin' at the Glen tonight! I wonder if the " Bog People
" will be represented, maybe just a wisp of smoke from a burning Tour Bus! Have
Fun!

The best 50-60's-era GP book ever written was "The Cruel Sport" by Robert
Daly. However, I haven't seen it in print in many, many years. It is
probably a collector's item by now -- I know that I wouldn't let my copy go
for ANY amount of money!

An excellent book! I remember reading my step-fathers copy in the late 60's. I
often wonder what became of all his old racing photos and books. They formed so
much of my love for the sport. I recently found a copy of the sound track to
the film "Grand Prix". It's not that it's a classic piece of film music, I just
remember having it around the house as a kid and listening to it just for the
sounds of the cars.

Actually the Bog People didn't burn the bus until the late '70's...
