quite a bit about Computer MFR customer support. In
general they are clueless.

Um...isn't the demo for 3dfx? If so, it only works on that card?
I don't know, haven't dl'd it as I don't have 3dfx.

I`d just like to chip in that AST are pretty good as these things go.
I had a major modem problem when I bought my machine (AST Adventure
430) and they kept working until it was solved.

You MUST have a 3D graphics accelerator with the 3Dfx chipset to run
VIEWCAR.
For the game itself for hardware 3D acceleration, only the 3Dfx chipset is
supported. Otherwise you need to use software rendering.
Examples of such accelerator cards include the Diamond Monster
3D, the Orchid Righteous 3D, and the Canopus Pure 3D. This utility
runs on the 3Dfx Voodoo Graphics, the 3Dfx Voodoo Rush, and the
3Dfx Voodoo2 Graphics chipsets.
