Does it work in Windows?, F1 RS uses Windows game controller config, you have to set it up here first. Steve. SkiDmark Racing Official mobile chicane in the F1RS Racing League http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/as/f1rl.htm

Nope. For some strange reason I cannot calibrate it in the windows control panel. I have downloaded the thrustmaster propanel and it will not work in that either. I played GP2 today and managed to calibrate it in the control method of that game, but I am still unable to configure my GP1 in F1RS, strange. Think I will have to contact Thrustmaster and see if they can help at all. Gary Young

He's right, test it under the game controller thingy in the control panel, if it works there then itll work in the game (provided youve redefined the controls in the game as well). Also, under the game controller in win95, dont select 4 button steering wheel or whatever, select thrusmaster t1/t2 with adapter, it gets rid of a big deadzone youd otherwise get selecting the former option -- "... and the Information Superhighway gave us all the chance to find out what some nerd thinks about Star Trek" - Homer Simpson

Just a thought or two (maybe way off the mark, but).... Do you only have 1 game controller card in your system? Also, you may want to try using the old joystick applet in the Control Panel to recognize your wheel in Win95 first and the try using the ProPanel applet. Or try removing all devices from your ProPanel, unplug your wheel, shut down and reboot your machine. Now plug in your wheel and try to get it detected by ProPanel. -- **************************** Michael E. Try selecting "T1/T2 without adapter" in the joystick selection screen if you have a GP1 wheel that came without an adapter. If you have an adapter choose the GP1 wheel instead.

The T1 and early productions of the T2 and GP1 were hardwired with the paddles (gas/brake) on the X2 axis (joystick2) and the wheel on the X1 axis (joystick1). As Win95 games and sims started coming out they only recognized controllers on the same joystick. The adaptor "rewires" the unit and puts the paddles on the Y1 axis (joystick1). Here is the Tech Doc for the GP1 & T1/T2 regarding the adaptor. Technical Bulletin April 24, 1997 IMPORTANT! Converter Not Needed for GP1's manufactured since December 14, 1996! This technical bulletin applies only to GP1 Driving Wheels. Please reference the date code on the bottom of the steering console. If the number for the date code is less than 961214, (in other words, if the GP1 was manufactured before December 14, 1996) use the setup information that exists in your GP1 manual and FYI sheet. If the number for the date code is 961214 or later, (in other words, if the GP1 was manufactured after December 14, 1996) the converter is no longer needed, and is NOT supplied in the box. The GP1 now connects directly to your computer's gameport as shown in the installation diagram in the manual. **Note: the date code consists of six numbers. The first two numbers are the year of manufacture (961214). The second two numbers are the month of manufacture (961214) in this case the 12 month or December. The last two numbers are the day of manufacture(961114) in this case the 14 day. The proper translation of 961214 is December 14, 1996. Technical Bulletin April 24, 1997 IMPORTANT! Converter Not Needed for T2's manufactured since November 18, 1996! This technical bulletin applies only to Formula T2 Driving Wheels. Please reference the date code on the bottom of the steering console. Please reference note for explanation of date code. The date code for the T2 unit is on the bottom of the steering console. If the date code is less than 961118, (in other words, if the T2 was manufactured before November 18th 1996) use the setup information that exists in your T2 manual and FYI sheet. If the date code is 961118 or later, (in other words, if the T2 was manufactured after November 18th 1996) the converter is no longer needed, and is not supplied in the box. The Formula T2 now connects directly to your computer's gameport as shown in the installation diagram in the manual. **Note: the date code consists of six numbers.
