My dad came over, and we decided to play GP2 with a null modem cable. I have a PII 300 with 128mb SDRAM, and my wife's computer is a P5-200 MMX with 64mb SDRAM. I made the PII the host and the 200 connected. I had the same graphics detail settings on both.....very low. Both ran in SVGA, with only a couple of things turned on in the detail, and in mirrors, only track and curbs. set frame rate to 18 with estimated being >25 on both machines. Medium detail. Problem is, although the occupancy was 25% on my PII, it was so choppy I missed every turn. Sometimes, I would be going completely straight, and the car would turn fully to the left, into the wall with no input on my part. I double checked the calibration, reinstalled GP2 on both machines, tried everything. Still no luck. We never got a complete lap in because we were so disgusted. Craig, I don't claim to be the networking guru, but I assume you need to transfer more data. I have seen Tbase100 PCI networking cards for thirty five bucks. Slap in two of those, a chunk of crossover cable, and you've got a baby LAN, for under a hundred bucks, with transfer rates thay will allow killer gameplay. Thats what I do (although, I must admit I haven't played GP2 on it, I use mine for N2 and F1RS) Good luck, all the best, Mike -- Michael S. Actually I have 100baseT network in my house now, 3Com 3C905TX cards and 3Com 12 port hub.... but GP2 only supports modem or direct connect through com port and null modem cable. I don't have a 3DFX card in my second computer yet, otherwise I would use F1RS, as I prefer it over GP2. I guess I'll have to hurry up and buy my VooDoo2 and pass the Diamond Monster on to my wife's computer! Craig

GP2 does *NOT* support any ipx network options, it only supports direct null modem connection, or modem to modem connections. I have tried both, and both worked, yes the graphics had to be turned down, and yes the frame rates were even worse than normal, but it *DID* work. You need to bear in mind that a linked game of GP2 will run as slow as the slowest pc? *Peter* 8-)
