I've a copy of Nascar 2, never bothered to patch it until today.
My setup.exe reads version 3.1.0.1
(The readme.txt asks for version 3.2.2.0 or 3.2.2.1)
Which version do I have then ? 1.00 or 1.01 ?

You have version 1.00. I had exactly the same 'problem'. I first tried to
patch my version as if it was 1.01 (I just looked at the last number: 1),
but that resulted in a error message. After reinstalling the game and
applying the patch for the 1.00 everything worked fine. I guess the
Readme3d.txt should have said: "If setup.exe is 3.2.2.0 <OR LOWER>, you have
version 1.00 of Nascar Racing 2." So you need N2pat0.exe, not N2pat1.exe.
