N2 doesn't recognise my joystick

4 posts by 4 people · 19 Feb 1998 - 22 Feb 1998

Hi all, I've had N2 for a while now, running quite happily (if somewhat less than perfectly) on my p100. I just put it on my flatmates p2 233MMX with a m$ sidewinder joystick and I can't get it to recognise the joystick. I've managed to get it to work on this machine with this setup once before but my flatmate deleted it to free up space and now I'm putting it back and I can't remember what I did last time. All it will do when I try to calibrate the joystick is say -1 to the joystick settings. I'm running under win95 B Quentin. -- -/\_ + -/\ \___ --==> Quentin Christensen ####//_\\___\_ + You must make your enemy your bud -\/ _/ + --==> and all will be well... -\/ http://www.ozramp.net.au/~minx/index.html

I've read in a few places that there is a problem getting the joystick to work with the b version of windows95. I have the same problem, but I'm into icr2 right now and don't have too much time for n2. You may want to read the faq at sierra to see if the have some info. Trevor Lefler

If you wish to run n2 under windows, you must configure your joystick under the control panel before you configure it in the game, otherwise nascar wont recognize it. Running in pure dos mode you will not have this problem.
