diy wheel please help

1 post by 1 person · 05 Feb 1998 - 05 Feb 1998

I decided to change my wheel from the Walley gear system to your more direct pot to shaft system on Lew's page. I can't seem to find a piece of pvc pipe that is a good fit though. The 1/2 in pvc is to small to fit around the 1/2 threaded rod (I suppose pvc pipe is measured in outside diameter?), and 3/4 in pvc pipe is way to big. If you know what parts I can get to connect the pot to the wheel shaft please tell me. Also, I can't seem to find a good knob to put around the pot shaft to bring it up in size. The knobs I have found have ridges and the outside diameter changes greatly from one end of the knob to the other. As you can see I need some major help here. p.s. I went to Builders Square and they told me to go to Radio Shack, and the people at Radio Shack told me to go to Builders Square. please help if you can L8er
