F1RS: before race/race

Does anyone know what the "before race/race" buttons on the garage page are supposed to do. Is one used only in a race and the other while practicing. I tried loading setups but they would only go in the race selection. This was while in Grand Prix mode. The "before race" always had the default setup. The arrow buttons seem to just transfer individual items like downforce, steering, etc between the two setups. -- Kevin (Remove the "x-" prefix from my address in order to reply via email)
Kevin... Go to this specialist NG for the answers. They are provided in one of the current threads. Server is:- cbr.cls.com.au NG name is:- alt.games.f1rs -- Bruce (at work) "Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired." (Jules Renard)

For setting up for a race. or for <BEFORE> a race. Not hard really. > Does anyone know what the "before race/race" buttons on the garage page are > supposed to do. Is one used only in a race and the other while practicing. >snip

Hi Bruce: I'm glad you have, or have found, another resource for F1RS. I've always considered RAS to be the newsgroup for any question to any driving sim. It just seems easier to skim through one newsgroup to see what interests me. And go to pages if they are referenced in the posts. What do I need to tell Netscape to get to this server and newsgroup. A scan for any newsgroup with "f1rs" in the tile was unfound. I don't think my ISP has this. Thanks Larry

You need to go to "Netscape Message Server" (you can access this by clicking on the little double balloons in the lower right-hand corner), then "file", "New Discussion Groups Server"...add the info found above (the cbr.cls.com.au), and then there should be several groups to choose from, one of which is the alt.games.f1rs group. I just realized this probably only pertains to Netscape Communicator, not Navigator, though I can't remember if the latest Navigator had the newsreader functions or not. Regards, John Wehman
