Is Soda supposed to ported to 3dfx? Obviously if it is it will be after nascar2, but are there even plans to do it? Thanks -- Thank You Marc Johnson Outside of a dog, a book is a mans best friend. Inside a dog, it is too dark to read -Mark Twain

Thanks A 3dfx patch was primised several months ago, but there hasn't been a peep about it since (which doesn't mean it isn't happening - Papy is an extremely closed an isolated group, with very little communication with the public). Well, they are still better than Microprose, UbiSoft and Microsoft ?? Don't you think ;-) . You may tell "Well the MS guys where here often". No. Papyrus guys are here since 3years, and even now they come and take a peek. MS guys stayed 3months only here and on websites. You clearly never went to the NROS newsgroup they are always with us, telling us some info, etc... Looks like we have different explanations of the word "communication". But I agree with you that they are a little bit too shy about the SODA-3dfx patch. I think it's dead. But with Papyrus (oops Software Allies in a certain way), you never know.... * Fran?ois Mnard * With great respect, * May the downforce be with you, * Good race at the Brickyard, (-o-) * <ymenard> on NROS, sponsored by * http://www.awpss.com/ * SimRacing director, AWPSS * Official Mentally retarded guy of r.a.s. * Excuse me for my English (I'm French speaking) * Excuse me for my provocative posts and reply's <g> begin 666 ymenard.vcf M0D5'24XZ5D-!4D0-"DXZ3>EN87)D.T9R86[G;VES.TXN#0I&3CIY;65N87)D M3#M#14Q,.U9/24-%.DXO00T*5$5,.TA/344[1D%8.DXO00T*0412.TA/344Z M.SLQ,30V.2!/=FED92U#;&5R;6]N=#M-;VYT<F5A;"U.;W)D.U%U96)E8SM( M3E1!0DQ%.C$Q-#8Y($]V:61E+4-L97)M;VYT/3!$/3!!36]N=')E86PM3F]R M+F%W<'-S+F-O;2\-"E523#IH='1P.B\O=W=W+F%W<'-S+F-O;2\-"D5-04E, M.U!2148[24Y415).150Z>6UE;F%R9$!A=W!S<RYC;VT-"D5.1#I60T%21 T* ` end

>Well, they are still better than Microprose, UbiSoft and Microsoft ?? Don't >you think ;-) . They're all pretty much the same as far as I can tell. Zero tolerance for public participation. Joe
>They're all pretty much the same as far as I can tell. Zero tolerance >for public participation. Whenever I've communicated with Papy's employees (both privately and in public forums), they have always been very willing to discuss any matter put to them in a reasonable manner. IMHO they come across as regular sim fantatics - if it's about sim racing they want to discuss it <g> But when they put their heads above the parapet here they get the sort of hassle that you or I wouldn't put up with - why should they? Cheers, Richard

>fantatics - if it's about sim racing they want to discuss it <g> But when >they put their heads above the parapet here they get the sort of hassle >that you or I wouldn't put up with - why should they? Because it's their job. I maintain a professional involvement on some forums. It's really not that difficult. Ignore the flames, respond to reasonable customers. What's so damn hard about that? Joe

Because the unreasonable customers tend to generate more bad publicity than any benefit you would get from telling something to the reasonable ones. Cheers! John
I hope, for the sake of consumers in your immediate locale, that you are *NOT* involved in any way with sales. The meaning of the word "service" to you would probably mean having your dog mated. (snip) Because the unreasonable customers tend to generate more bad publicity than any benefit you would get from telling something to the reasonable ones. I have to say sorry if I've inadvertently offended you in some way Bruce, but you seem to have a penchant for responding to anything I say in the most negative manner you can muster. As I said, sorry if you're upset about something, although I'm at a loss as to what. As it happens I am European manager of marketing and customer service for one of the largest semiconductor companies in the world, and IMHO I believe that I know my subject very well. In my opinion you are making the mistake of applying general principles to an area where they are not appropriate. The defining fact in this case is that Papyrus (nor any other company) DO NOT NEED to be here, and you'll find therefore that their approach to customer service is modified accordingly. Technical and customer service are services which have to be provided, and people with infinite patience and high tolerance are hired accordingly to do this via the official telephone support lines. Support on r.a.s. is NOT something which has to be done or makes much difference to sales - they'll get feedback and suggestions on products whether they are here or not since we'll discuss them even in the absence of any company representative. There is therefore no need for someone to hang around if they are taking abuse. As Greg pointed out, it CAN be done, but why on earth would anyone want to? Cheers! John

So, DO you know the meaning of the word service John (Sorry Bruce, but I couldn`t resist, see you at the track) Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy
>They're all pretty much the same as far as I can tell. Zero tolerance >for public participation. >Joe Well, maybe if we could weed out some sniveling whiners we'd get more "participation". Time to start a r.a.s.whiners newsgroup for the pinheads and leave this group to actual discussion of racing simulators!!!!! Regards, Rick Carlson
