If Richard has indeed identified the problem, then avoiding the use of
random weather might be a workaround. Other people have reported that
this option can cause a race to start in sunny conditions, and then
clouds can arrive and eventually rain. Perhaps it also randomizes the
speed of the wind, and therefore the speed of cloud movement.

Hmmm. I don't think it is.
I have a slightly less powerful system, Intel P-166 instead of K-6 200 Mhz,
other specs identical, but since I turned of replay, the slide-show is gone.
I've run races in the sun, cloudy, rainy and with the random weather, but I
have not experienced any differences.
What I DO experience are slowdowns during the race, whenever I forget to
switch of Task Scheduler.
Use Ctrl+Alt+Del and terminate *ALL* tasks except Explorer and Systray.
Go into the INI file in the F1RS directory and carry out the changes to
the lines controlling the sound. (SATUR=; FADE=). Also change the
[Sound] X2 to PW if you like.
Turn off Replays, turn off Messages.
Either allow Windows 95 to control your VR or set the VR to minimum 126,
maximum 128.
On a P166, 32Mb, 3Dfx, I rarely have a first corner problem that is not
driveable and only now occassionally suffer from disk read/write
flutter, whilst being able to run all graphics 'on' at the
second-greatest depth of view.

Whoa easy there big boy;-)
hehe just to be safe dont be hitting CTRL+ ALT+ DEL on all except Explorer
and systray!
Some folks out there may have things like MS wheel or Rnapp in there and
might find it hard to play with no mouse.
I know on alot of the newer PIIs you might be a bit surprised if all you
had was explorer and systray.
I may be wrong but check before you delete if you dont know what it does
;-) Aloha, Mike

Mike,
Do you now what exactly "Rnapp" is?
I've seen this before while doing a CTRL+ALT+DEL and have no idea what
it is.
Thanks for any info.

Hehe I was hoping you knew ;-)
You know the funny thing is once I was on the phone with a Techy from Dell
and he didn't know either!
I have searched all my computer Via Find on the computer & searched all
Help files and no mention of it odd eh?
My only other guess would have to be it might have something to do with
the date/time but like I said thats just a guess.
Funny huh Puters go figure the way I learn is usually misconfiguring
something then having to fix it ;-)
Well Aloha Tony tell me if you ever find out what the heck Rnapp is. Mike

Dial Up it rarely unloads itself from the Win95 after a dial up
session. The Dial Up networking Upgrade 1.2b does cure this....but
causes other problems. As of now its perfectly safe to shut this down
via ctrl alt delete....systray is usually the visible volume control
for your soundcard in Win95 tray....its better to disable that thru
your multimedia settings. There is a tick you check off that says
"show volume control"
Also this is just a guess but I would experiment with either not using
or disabling the mouse wheel if I were trying to debug a slow system.
Those mouse pointers and such can cause havoc....

Not exactly, but it does have to do with Dialup Networking...
