One thing that I do find frustrating about F1-RS is the apparent deadzone
when braking and trying to steer.
I especially have problems with this on the fast tracks like Monza and
Hockenheim. More often than not, I miss a tight bend because the car just
completely fails to turn in. Fiddling with the settings to enduce more
oversteer show no result.
Does anyone know what can be done to remedy this?

approximately 700 yards. All of these shells had ricochetted, with the
exception of a six***th round which finally put the Mark V Panther out of
action." Sgt. Thomas P. Welborn, Germany's Panther tank, the quest for

Ok this is to do with the Windows game controller not the game itself. The
controller needs to be set up in the control panel as a wheel, not a
joystick. Not sure if this will help you but it worked for me
Todd.
I have had the exact same problem at Monza. I've noticed that the later I
brake, the worse the problem gets. For those of you who haven't had the
experience, it acts like the accelerator is stuck and you cannot brake in
time for the curve. I've ruined many a hot lap from this. I've also tried
turning off (and turning on) the Poll with interrupts parameter under Win95
game controller but this didn't help.
I'm wondering if this is a problem with the DirectX version of the game and
does not occur in the Voodoo version?
This bug makes outbraking all but impossible and is very frustrating.
Are you guys downshifting too fast and overreving the motor?
I've seen the symptom you describe at Monaco where I would
be ready to turn in and the car seems to be getting a great
push from the motor still. Do you still have the problem if you
try it with auto gearbox?

It happens even when standing stil. Pull the joystick way back and also turn
left or right, there is no response from the wheels. I can however give full
throttle and the wheels DO turn left and right when I want to.
And don't you know, auto-gearbox is for sissies? :-)

This is realism, that's why they call it a simulator, right? The thing
is that you can't steer because you lock up the front tires, if you
brake earlier and with less brake force you'll see you'll be able to
steer.
good luck,
Hans

I am using a Destiny Steering system & the car does not
turn until I have at least turned the wheel 45 deg. When going
straight I can move the wheel l/r upto 45deg & there is no
change to the driving line. As they have said this makes
cornering heder as I have to turn the wheel over 45deg to get any
movement.
I have the jstik sensitivity set to high :(
Rob
This definately ruins a great game

steering potentiometer. Reduce the lock to say, 14 degrees, which should
work everywhere except at Monaco, of course. Also, increase the wheel
sensitivity to 100%.
Your dead zone should be gone now...

(or similar, my system is in german) in the
calibration-utility of win95, is set.
