I have a Dell XPS Pro 200n with a Matrox 4MB and a Monster 3d card. I
run other DX5 games with absolutely no problems, but I am having a
problem with MS CPR. If I select "Hardware Acceleration" in the
Graphics menu, it shows up, but upon entering the track it is
obviously not accelerated and sure enough, the option has been
unselected when I go back to the menu. Does anyone know why this is
happening and what the fix is? Also my GP1 seems to be way too
sensitive in the game.
Thanks in advance,
Rob

Even though you say you run other DX5 games, about the only thing I can
think of is that your 3dfx card is not setup properly. Did you allow DirectX
5
to overwrite all of your video drivers? I found that things work much better
once I did that. Also, did you get the latest drivers (including Glide) from
www.3dfx.com ? I have also found the reference drivers to be much better
than the diamond ones.

Check out The APEX at http://cart.gamestats.com for information on how to
tweak CART PR.
Most people run too much steering lock which makes the car very twitchy. Try
moving the non-linear slider all the way to the left and play with the speed
sensitive steering. Also run very small amounts of steering wheel lock. Most
tracks I'm able to run a lock anywhere from 5 to 7.
Thanks
