I got the NAscar Pro Steering Wheel about a month ago and love it!! The only
problem I'm having is that all of a sudden, the two buttons on the wheel are
not working anymore. I usually use one of them as reverse in Nascar 2 and it
won't recognize it anymore. None of my games do. They were working fine when
I first got it. I'm thinking that it is just a setting that I'm missing
somewhere. Anyone else had this problem?
Dave
Go to Thrustmaster's Web Site www.thrustmaster.com. You'll find the
solution to your problem there. Make sure you download their Propanel file.
It's excellent to calibrate you and test your wheel.

Same problem here. I have had it about a month. My problem is internal I
think. When I turn the wheel to the right the wheel buttons work. Centered
or left nothing. I just used one for reverse, but other games they can be
usefull. I'm sure the movement going left and right probably worked the
wire(s) lose. I'll open the hood on this thing tomarrow and see what the
real problem is. I still don't no if I like it any better then my T2.

I just noticed this same problem a couple of days ago. I only lost my left
button though. I got the wheel 1 month ago. I know it's not the settings
since I can plug in my 4 button flight stick while it says "Thrustmaster
Nascar Pro" and get all 4 buttons to work. Besides, my left button works.

NOTE: Remove "NOSPAM" to reply!
The right button on my wheel failed after two weeks. If you've had the
wheel for a month, expect the gas pedal springs to break any day now. I'd
recommend calling the Thrustmaster support via the phone, not through email.

Ive got a CHRACEING system for $89.00 dollars and it is GREAT.
No Problems with wheel or peddles.. Ive got a driver prob that I did.
It drives GREAT. It also came with a GAME Need for Speed .
for the buck you cant BEAT IT.
The above is the reason that I passed up THRUSTMASTER.
dmac
Well, I can only now input on the wheel... I just brought it home about
2 hours ago from Best Buy. They had it for $129.99 with a $30.00 store
rebate ($99.99).
I can say that the installation was flawless in both windows95 and DOS.
I have a desk with a keyboard drawer underneath the desk top. I mounted
the wheel on the keyboard sliding drawer.. BIG MISTAKE. No room for
legs under/between the mounting brackets. I remounted on the top of the
desk itself and now its perfect! (I must add that im 6ft 3in and 250
lbs and need all the room I can get ;) ).
The gear shift is excellent and I have to get use to the steering yet.
Im so use to my Microsoft Sidewinder that my times are slower right now
with the wheel. Im having a real hard time locking up the breaks on
road courses in TPTCC =) Getting use to it though. Ill be ready for
the Jan 25th race at Australia (my first in TPTCC incidentally).
Again... the mounting and installation went absolutely without problem
for me. Calibration was great in both Windows95 and N2. I highly
recommend getting this wheel. Particularly if you can get it for
$99.99, the same that EBX and Best Buy are charging for the older T2.
I think this wheel/pedal combo runs circles around my friends CH
wheel/compo set. I havent found the problem so much with the pedal
stand that other have. Maybe my longer length torso and legs have
something to do with that, I dont know. If anything.... my left ankle
does get a little stiff using it for the brake... but im sure that just
getting use to it.
Happy racing =)

% see that there's anything wrong with them either. (I took all those
% little screws off and looked). I have also had both accelerator
% pedal springs break, even though I am very gentle on the pedals. They
% are sending me "new and improved" springs. I'm about to ask for a new

% that... I have to question the durability though..
I've had the buttons go on occasion and I am still unsure as to why.
Somtimes just disconnecting all of the connections (pedal to wheel and
gameport) and then reconnecting makes them come back. I thought it
might by the cord running under the wheel base, but twisting it didn't
seem to make the buttons go away once I got them working again. It's
really odd.

My first button failure occurred after two weeks of heavy use. I depend
on the buttons for shifting in GP 2 and F1 RS. Can't keep up the speed
with the shifter. I know my problem is the button and not the set up. I
have not torn it down to attempt repair as yet. Thinking about having my
wife get me a TSW for my B-day. I have been through a T-1, T-2 and now
the Pro and have had reliability problems with each one
I am also curious about the best repair scenario for these buttons. I
picked up a couple of Radio Shack Momentary Pushbutton Switches while
X-mas shopping but I haven't tried a repair. Any one else with a similar
problem/solution?

Myself and 2 friends have had the same problem with the buttons on this
wheel. We all got replacements within 5 days of buying them and today we all
returned the replacements with the same problem.. You might have guessed
that we decided against another Thrustmaster as a replacement.

I'm thinking that it is just a setting that I'm missing > >somewhere. Anyone else had this problem? > >DaveIf it is of any help, I had the same problem and fixed it myself. Upon
opening the unit (for those curious ones) I discovered that the wires going
through the steering shaft broke inside the protective sleeve. This is
because the opening in the shaft where the wire comes out is very rough and
as you bend the wheels left and right the wires are constantly rubbed
against the edge. Eventually the wire breaks. I had to use a new wire
with better sleeve, and filed the edges of the opening to make it smoother.
You have to do alot of soldering, and in the process I broke he soldering
post on one of the cheap buttons. I managed to fix it but I am planning to
replace the buttons with more substantial ones soon. So far, it has been
working OK. Of course, this is really lousy design by TM and I fixed it
myself because, well because I am curious about things and I cannot help
it, and second I like the way the wheel feels.
I also broke my pedal springs and ended up modifying the basic design of
the pedal base and springs. I can give more info to those who might be
interested.
All in all, I am very disappointed with the quality of the N2 Pro of
course, but I will use it as a base to modify and improve it to my liking,
as the next best thing would be a TSW for hundreds more. For most, I will
advise to stay away from N2 Pro, if this kind of experience does not sound
interesting :)

Nafi, but for those hundreds more you would get a real wheel with a 100%
lifetime warranty and you wouldnt have the downtime and irritation
either :)!
Anyhow the new TSW 2 will be out soon at about $179.00 and it is way
better than anything else in that price range and also has a 100%
liftime mechanical warranty.
Trev
I know Trevor. I am just trying to justify my throwing $130 down the tube,
although I got a minor return in terms of pleasure in modifying the
product. I will probably get a TWS wheel, if I can fool my wife that it is
really the same wheel that I modifed <G>

Thanks Trev I sure will. P.S. Its those quick response times to questions
like these that makes your product very attractive not to mention all the
gushing by customers ;-) Aloha, Mike
Can someone give me more info on the TSW 2? I just bought a TM Formula T2
and can still take it back. I'm not sure what the NASCAR wheel has over
the Formula T2, but it doesn't sound too reliable. I run GP2 and CPR - any
recommendations on the best wheel/pedal unit for these games would be
appreciated.
Thanks!
