Hello Steven I hope I got to you in time !! Buy a standalone 3dfx Voodoo Graphics chipset card instead of the 3dfx Voodoo Rush chipset card. The standalone cards have better performance and game compatibility. Trust me on this. Get the Canopus Pure 3D or if you can't find one of these, then get a Diamond Monster 3D or Orchid Righteous 3D. If you research this issue you will find I am giving you good advice Cheers John Cookson (Canada)

FORGET RENDITION!!!!!!! It has no future, besides.... Nascar 2 will soon be 3DFX also.

Hmm... what 2D card are you going to put along side the 3Dfx? What if you're looking to replace your 2D card as well, but only have $100 to spend? What if all you want is Direct3D performance? What if you don't have a free PCI slot? What if you work at very high res and color depths and the signal degradation from the pass-through cable is too noticeable for your tastes. 3Dfx may be the fastest, but that doesn't mean its the only or best solution. It's quite possible a Rendition or Riva128 card could be better suited for some people's needs. -- Eric T. Busch http://ebusch.akorn.net >FORGET RENDITION!!!!!!! It has no future, besides.... Since when has a Rendition card supported very hi res and color depths. I have a first gen Rendition board, and it sucks as regards to these areas. If the new 2100/2200 has improved upon this area _significantly_, then I think the ultimate rig to have would be a Stealth II (or Thriller) paired up with a Voodoo2. Actually, I'm running a Rendition/3Dfx pairing right now, but have about had it with the 2D. There's times when I think the Rendition has richer colors than my 3Dfx, so I still use it for that, plus of course ICR2.
How do you know this! please all knowing one! please let us know! "Over... did somebody say over?... was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?" >FORGET RENDITION!!!!!!! It has no future, besides.... Nascar 2 will soon >be 3DFX also.
That may be, but it sure is great in the present, at least for N2 and Icr2. -- Don Burnette Music City Racing Dburn on Ten

You wont see any improvement if you get a 3Dfx card in ICR2,NASCAR 2,Or GP2.Rendition's Verite 1000 has excellent SVGA and should speed up GP2 a couple FPS.Possibly get a Screamin 3D or Total 3D.Both are manufactured by Canopus and have a slight speed advantage over the Intense 3D and 3D BLaster. For what it's worth, I have the Sierra Screamin 3d and absolutely love it, have had no problems with it in the almost year I have had it now. Nascar2 and Icr2 have awesome graphics and great frame rates with it. I was able to run N2 on my old p90 with all graphics on, before upgrading to the new Dell 233. I quickly moved the Sierra card into the Dell system, my Matrox Millenium II that came with the Dell now resides in the old p90. -- Don Burnette Music City Racing Dburn on Ten
