Picked up Andretti today - what the heck, EB has a 10-day return ...
Here are my first impressions based on about 1-hour of gameplay...
1. Definitely arcade - not simulator
2. Very nice car graphics - nicest looking cars I think I've seen
period
3. Frames rates are good (I have a 3dfx card)
4. The car handling is not very realistic not even by sim standards
5. I have to put hard *** on it and remove most of the downforce on
the rear to get the rear to break loose in a corner ...
6. This game cries out for a steering wheel - it's hard to drive on a
keyboard or other digital controller...
7. You can play all 16 tracks in either car - Stock Car or Open wheel
...
8. So far, this game hasn't grabbed me .. I'm gonna give it a few days
and then it may be going back.
9. The driving school is a joke - Eight 1-2 minute interviews w/the
Andrettis ...
10. The replays stink ... only can save part of one race -- also can't
replay the race after it is over (I think ...)
Let me know if you want more info ...
Doug
p.s. found no way to pick which car I was driving - I went from the
Havoline car to another car when I changed tracks, no idea why ... there
seems to be no "brand" identity between cars ... you get one group of
setups, thats it ...
