It's well worth the 8mb download. Hustle and bustle for position, force them
wide, race door to door.. its all in there!
It's an arcader, but a damn good one!!
I was going to going to go on and rant about how bad the graphics
look, that the game is unplayable and very slow even with minimum
detail, and that all this shouldn't happen with a 3Dfx card, but:
..as it turns out, it was my fault, not the programs. While I was
fiddling with the computer yesterday, my Monster 3D card apparently
disconnected itself (loosened up a bit and started to slip out of the
slot, because of my computer case). Therefore, the TOCA demo
couldn't find my 3D card, and used my regular 2D card instead.
With a 3D card, this game is fantastic. It is an arcade game, and I
usually don't like arcade games much. This is very fun, however.
The AI cars are agressive and duke it out with each other, often
ending up slamming each other into a wall. I put the graphics back up
to "High" and put the resolution on "Medium". The graphics look great.
Makes you wish that every racing sim and game was 3Dfx compatible
(especially ICR II and GP 2).
Be sure to download this demo!
