I've recently posted extensive enhancements to my racing sim pages at:
http://www.simracing.com/~alison/sims/ [address restored]
This site contains comprehensive information targeted at newcomers to
racing sims, as well as information of interest to more experienced sim
racers.
I've included discussions of Papyrus' IndyCar Racing 2, NASCAR 2,
Spectrum Holobyte's Grand Prix II, and notes on several other sims,
including Papyrus' upcoming Grand Prix Legends and Microsoft's new CART
Precision Racing. The reviews contain both original content and
information compiled from various resources on the internet. The
featured sim, IndyCar Racing 2, is discussed in detail, with extensive
information for optimizing it through both software and hardware
modifications.
A discussion of input devices focuses on Thrustmaster products, with
recommendations for modifications and maintenance. In addition, other
hardware requirements for racing sims are detailed.
Rounding out the site is an overview of vehicle dynamics, a compendium
of advice from experienced sim racers on creating your own car setups,
and links to other sim-oriented web sites.
I hope you'll take a look at this site, and I'm confident you'll find
something useful and interesting there, no matter what your level of
experience with racing sims!
