I'm looking to upgrade to a Pentium II-233 and an Asus m-board with AGP. Can I plug-in my Intense 3D Rendition into a PCI slot and still get 3D? Will there be any conflicts between the AGP and Rendition. The guy at a computer store told me that no way is Rendition capatible w/ AGP, that I'd need a 3dfx!(helps that he's the sole dealer of 3dfx in the city)! I still want to plat N2 and don't want a 3dfx. Can anyone help me?? Scott

The Rendition card will work just fine the the PCI slot. The current 3Dfx cards are PCI as well, and will be no different. -- Eric T. Busch http://ebusch.akorn.net

Sure you can still use your Rendition card in a PCI slot. The guy is feeding you a line about the 3Dfx card being compatible with AGP. It's a PCI card as well, only Voodoo 2 will come in an AGP version (actually both PCI and AGP versions will be made). If you only want to race N2, you might still consider the 3Dfx card. Word is that there is a 3Dfx version of N2 in the works (finally), and for anything other than N2 or IndyCar2, a 3Dfx card is far superior to a Rendition card. If you play ICR2 as well, then maybe you oughta keep the Rendition - we'll never see a 3Dfx port of that sim. Unless you're dead set on an AGP vid card, why not just add a 3Dfx card to your existing Rendition card? It's a great way to cover all the bases when it comes to 3D support: Rendition for N2, ICR2 3Dfx for both Direct3D and 3Dfx native support-only titles

Yeah, it should work. You should have both AGP and PCI slots. If you have a PCI display card just plug it into the PCI slot. I have the an LX motherboard with an STB 128 RIVA AGP card and a Canopus 3dfx PCI card and they both work fine.
