I just got the BGN and I am terribly disappointed with the rendition graphics. I traded my 3DFX card for this "thing" for one game and while but the speed is so slow! I have a 200 mhz pentium NEC with 128 meg of Ram and with the fence, the infeild and trres off, I can't even run on Texas, let alone Nashville or others. Maybe, I have something configured wrong, but if not I will be returning my 3D card and the BGN and re-buying 3DFX and supporting EA Sports!! Very Diappointed Tony Rizzuti

Dont blame Rendition. The Rendition Port of N2 is the worst Rendition Port ive ever seen.As far as supporting EA...Well....Good luck finding a realistic sim from them.

A realistic sim? I'd settle for a game that actually had somewhat decent gameplay and only a few bugs, something they have yet to produce. EA of late has been all graphics and very little else. -- Eric T. Busch Akorn Access, Inc. http://ebusch.akorn.net

They did once - the original PC Need for Speed (ruined it with NFS2 of course - they don't even seem to be aware of what made NFS1 great). Agreed. Joe

How can a track pack slow a game down ??? Its just extra tracks! ( i thought like the n1 trackpack which looked better than the originals ) When the v2200 comes out we will see how slow it is & how pretty it looks with a AA patch from papy :) (maybe)

The tracks can slow the game if it has too many intensive graphics... I haven't got the pack yet, but I will today and we'll see... -- Mike's Nascar World http://www.gate.net/~mpete/ Stop on by, what can it hurt? (remove nospam to reply)
The one thing that really makes me mad is the fact that Papyrus did not use antialias graphics with the Track Pack for the rendition. (half ass track pack) On Wed, 22 Oct 1997 22:39:23 -0400, Tony Rizzuti

Thank >God Nascar 2 happened as to me it's the pinnacle. Well, the choices are pretty clear here as well. But when you have a thousand choices and only two or three available avenues, you have to make some serious and occasionally unpleasant decisions. Unfortunately, we can't do everything we'd like to do. NASCAR Manager's recent shelving is one example of this. If Papyrus had unlimited funds, a couple hundred of the best software engineers on the planet, a staff of hundreds of graphic artists, and the cooperation of every single licensee and sanctioning body in the racing community, you can bet we'd be doing everything everyone asks for *right now*. I think what we've done with the resources at hand is staggering, but then I work here and can see the whole picture. I wish I could precisely describe to this newsgroup the huge melting pot of situations, opinions, limitations, and events that define our direction as a company. The folks at Papyrus all have their pet projects and "what-if" ideas for simulations. Personally, you could name any racing sanctioning body and I would love to do it. And maybe somewhere down the line I might be able to here at Papyrus. But until then we do the best with what we've got. -- Papyrus Design Group, Inc. My opinion, not Papyrus' or Sierra's.

Make sure your using -DMA and -4 in the Rendition .BAT file. -- Eric T. Busch Akorn Access, Inc. http://ebusch.akorn.net >I just got the BGN and I am terribly disappointed with the rendition >graphics...

Tony, I've got an AMD K6 200 and it runs flawlessly. My opinion on the graphics is nothing but praise. Nashville is eye popping and Hickory will definitely weaken the strongest driver's shoulders:) Great job Papy!

And your all doing a damn fine job...imo. MANY thanks, for EVERYTHING. cheers...d.
Um, none of the tracks have it. Only the modified Rendition tracks in ICR2 had antialiasing. It is not programmed into N2. So I'd have to say that they didn't half-ass it, I think the tracks look great, and run great with my Intense 3d / p5-133 -- Mike's Nascar World http://www.gate.net/~mpete/ Stop on by, what can it hurt? This DEFINITELY helps, and you won't notice any difference as far as graphics go. Martinsville is even smooth now. Todd : Hey Fellas, Im running a Pentium 100Mhz with a Creative 3D Blaster with 4MB : of video ram and 32MB of ram in my system, and the renddma batch runs smooth : as silk. Something you may want to try is typing at the nascar 2 prompt : "renddma -4" This forces the game to load the 4 bit graphics although you : wont notice a difference in the looks of the game, it does seem to improve : the speed at which it runs. to run that particular switch you have to : install the 2 patches or have the BGN expansion pak. : : Good luck, and good racing. Greg : : : : :
