I just got my TM ACM GC and its really good. the steering is so smooth,
it works great. Also, I can use my 4 axis controler in win 95 now.
Id like to know about the adjustable dial. I know what the instructions
say so please don't say read the instructions.
I'd like to get less sensitivity if possible. I first used the
suggested rate by the speed measure software, 6.5. Then I set it all
the way down and that didn't work. Then I set it all the way up, 9.5,
and re-calibrated. I hoped that this would make it less sensitive but
it didn't
I read on SPY'S site that he uses a different value fir each program.
Why is this?
how can I tune this to my best advantage i.e. reduce sensitivity more?
Please someone explain what I need to make the most intellegent use of
this dial

resides
in sims working in DOS, most of them have a distinct way of changing the
sensitivity. And in WIN95 you can't.
IF YOU CAN, return the card (say it's defective) and get what i'm
suggesting
on that page (sorry Thrustmaster).

You can adjust the ACM card with the dial, but you must leave the dial
in place after you adjust it. It is the pot in the dial that controls
the speed. If you take some paint or fingernail polish and make a
little mark on the knob, you can easily set it differently for different
sims/games or within Win95. Just note the placement of the mark and
next time you run that sim, turn the dial to that setting. Next sim
just move the knob to a different setting. Actually I don't think
re-calibrating after adjusting the dial is useful as the sim/game will
then compensate for the different setting. Figure out your ACM setting
from within the sim/game.

% So Eric, you're saying that the ACM card will not work for a DOS
% installed/run sim? Great... I just blew $30. :-(
I don't mean to knock the CH gamecard, I like the feature of being able
to "automatically" set the speed upon boot. But, the ACM is a valid
card in its own right. I think what Eric is trying to say is that once
you figure out a games sensitivity, one can make a special boot for just
that game or adjust the card via a software switch. What I like about
the ACM card is that if I am in the game and don't like the way the
sensitivity feels, I can reach out and adjust the dial without having to
exit the game and re-run the command to adjust my gamecard.
One thing I've noticed with my ACM and the TMScope program is that the
sensitivity of the gamecard is different in Win95 than it is in DOS. If
the CH card adjusts it speed upon bootup, is this before it reaches the
Win95 interface? If so then the gamecard will not be properly set
within Win95. I have a different setting for my ACM for programs within
Win95 and those that run in pure DOS. This compensates for the
different timing caused by the Win95 overhead.
