Are you using a separate game card, or the joystick port off a sound
card ?
You might want to try a separate card if you haven't.
% Hello all
% Since 6 month me and my friend cristophe meet every weekend
% for an indy race of 200 turn using ICR2.
% We had great fun so far :)
% Now the problems......
% I have come to serious trouble when i have upgrade from my
% p90 to p200 MMX. Don't know why but it seems that the physics
% at indy has changed..... :(
% I have played indy so much times.... I know how to takes the
% corners :) But now, if i oversteer the car just spin....
<snip>
% If i put the p90 back no problem !
% IMHO it's a problem with the joystick calibration but :
% -The range on calibration hasn't change (10 to 1100)
% -I recalibrate 1,2, 50 times same result :((
I think 2 things are at play here. One is the frame rate. You are more
than likely used to the way the car handled and with a slower frame
rate. With the 200 you are greatly increasing your frame rate and
things react differently. The other is probably tied to your gameport.
If you don't have a speed adjustable game port the timing involved in
polling your joystick has been increased. Now a minor twitch of the the
wheel/joystick is now a major twitch of the wheel/joystick. I think you
will find you can control ICR2 (which needs a delicate touch to begin
with) better with a dedeciated speed adjustable game card.
