I've just played the 3Dfx F1 demo, and while it's no sim, it's not too
bad as an arcade racer (in GP mode - arcade mode is a waste of time). I
actually owned the game when I was running Rendition but took it back
immediately because it ran so bad.
While this version runs well most of the time - seems smoother when
running max detail than high (!?) - I've seen v3 of a performance patch
and wondering if it makes a difference. So...
Have you used it?
Was it better?
Is the demo 'patched' already?
How does Monaco look? (What's your system?)
BTW I also found that the game plays better with a joypad than with the
T2, and with the lowest above and behind view. I usually hate that view
for race games, but it makes it feel more like a reasonable Moto Racer
type affair (which it is) and less like a cruddy half baked sim (which
it is). And I do like to go arcade from time to time (like when I don't
have all night).
