When I accelerate through the gears I get a popping sound about 3/4
way to top speed, then it goes away about 7/8 of top speed. Sounds
great at slow speed and at the very top end. It is a very loud pop pop
pop as if it were some kind of limiter (like they use in racing to
keep the cars at pit speed), but it stops at even a higher rpm. I
didn't have the problem in the non-3dfx version, but it is in both the
"pre"release and released versions of xcar3dfx. Any ideas?

pathetic that I can't really tell if there is popping at higher r.p.m.'s!
The popping is rhythmic and quite noticeable.
