Drivers: WebMasters, Etc. I have a proposal that maybe a few of us can work on. There are lots of CHATTING techniques used on the INTERNET. We can all go to wheretorace.com, Mirc (SERVERAL), NASCARNET, IVGA - CHAT, etc . etc. etc. But when we go there its just a conversation with one group. Why Dont we try and make a room at www.talkcity.com. I would certainly be willing to point the IVGA chat.. I all ready have at TALKCITY. Whats neat is if 5 or 10 other people are runnning there chats there as well you can open up like 10 windows and you can see and participate in all the CHATS at once.. Of Course since there are about 2000 people there at night, We would have to have a standard like on this group.. We could all start with a common naming convention. That way when we go there we can see all the other RACING SIM CHATs in process. Maybe Michael Carver who proposed standard for USENET could propose standard for CHAT groups at TALKCITY.. Or some other place if you all know of one.. The IVGA is willing to support anything that will improve CHATTING about RACING SIMULATION and IMPROVE COMMUNICATIONS and ELIMINATE MISINFORMATION.. Maybe we can get together and talk about some of these issues.. Don Wilshe
Don, What is talkcity and where can it be found? I already have Mirabilis' ICQ and of course IRC, so I really don't want to load up another chat program, but if it is a really good application which many will agree to use as a format, then I would be willing to try it. Also, once minimized, does it have some kind of an "away" feature so that it will not interrupt any other win apps? I love the ICQ away setting so that I can go use another full screen app and not worry about the window popping up during the other game or app. -- Regards, Michael Bell IVGA Member #2935

http://www.talkcity.com is just a web browser Java interface (which takes a REALLY LONG time to load) for using the TALKCITY IRC Network (which is just like UNDERNET, EFNET, or DALNET) You can connect to Talkcity through any IRC client at the server: chat2.talkcity.com port:6667 So in other words, www.talkcity.com is just a substitute for people who don't have an IRC client such as PIRCH or MIRC
