***NASCAR and SODA sims: Check it out!***

Got all this in a private e-mail: This is all from a member of our local series who does some serious racing and testing, who has an intimate relationship with Papy and IVGA. Hope this info is all true; otherwise, I don't think he would have posted to our series' mailing list.

Well, this isn't true; I like N2 very much as do many folks at Papyrus or who beta tested. Sure, some features were left aside in order to manage time, but it wasn't "rushed." Every project has a schedule, a rough deadline that has to be adhered to in order to make that project somewhat profitable. If you're a farmer who plants a crop in March, you're going to need that crop to produce its harvest by September, otherwise the value of your hard work is reduced. Computer driving simulations are evolutionary; NASCAR 2 marked significant strides in the genre, and NASCAR 3 will only be far superior. I don't play NASCAR 1 anymore, as much as I liked it, because it feels "dated" now. Now that I've got a spotter barking at me, I can't drive without it (o.k., sometimes I can't drive with it, but I'm improving). God Bless, Steve

What a bunch of crud this is!! While my opinion may not be the same as most, I absolutely loved the game from day one. I can't believe "None" but I would think that rushing out something you know could have been better, won't fill you with much joy for the thing.. Sounds good! Not sure what he means about Gp2 being "harder" (presumably) than the likes of N2 or ICR2?? Anyone?? They "will" be given??? I thought it was already under way? Does he mean from now? N3 should be given all the time necesary, but if that's finished by Dec '97 it'll be a bonus. IMO Neat, can't say Setups are my fave part of N2. :) Talk about a reason to start learning. <G> This could all be 100% true and may all have changed by release day... It's good to hear though.... That's total bs. This isn't my fav sim, but it is still a great sim! ..and I havn't heard one Papy employee or other tester complain about N2.

I never had NASCAR 1 but as soon as I downloaded and took a look at the N2 demo I knew I had to have it. Since I got a T2 wheel and Screamin 3D card I haven't done much else in my spare time except run N2 and ICR2. Do you know of any general timeframe when N3 will be released? Thanks Rick
