I will not buy a wheel from TSW. So I would anyone that has a wheel
besides a thrustmaster, give me some feed back on what they have, it would
be greatly apprieciated. Money is NO object, well maybe a little. I want a
good quality built to last wheel.

Customer anger at TSW wheel delays
Sean Higgins said he would not buy from TSW after repeated delivery delays, and asked for alternative wheel recommendations. Owners compared ECCI and TSW units, most praising both products' quality. TSW owner Trevor Thomas replied by attacking the wrong person, which several readers said put them off buying from him.

Also, I have been a happy TSW owner for over two years. I think I
received one of the second batch ever produced. It has been a great
product, and was especially worth it since two years ago it was a lot
less expensive. Sorry to hear you have had such bad luck. It sounds
like they have just been unable to keep up with demand.
Good Luck.

SCREW TSW! You can't go wrong with an ECCI. The CDS2 is ten times
better, and you get it when they say. Great customer service and a
great product, don't hesitate. This is not an endor***t :), I don't
work for them! Trevor Thomas(TSW) was here a month ago bashing ECCI,
and now when customers are complaining about HIS products, he is
nowhere to be found. He really pissed me off then, and now I'll get a
dig in whenever I can. Like they say..."Make one customer happy, and
they will tell maybe one person,***one customer off, and they will
tell EVERYONE!"
Are you the same idiot that compared the quality of the ECCI and the
TSW, without ever using the TSW not too long ago? If so, you
obviously didn't learn anything from it.
No, I believe he was bashing the idiot that was comparing the
two without a shred of credibility to his post....probably was
you.
Yeh, I believe it.....cockroaches always scamble for the scraps
left by others. Careful though....the light will come on soon and

Trevor does an excellent job of supporting his
customers, and the TSW is a fine product. My one complaint about Trevor is
that he has a bad habit of bashing other products, and he knows this,
because I've told him flat out.
I just upgraded my TSW to the new F1-style wheel. The new steering pot is
silky smooth and is supposed to last forever. The paddle shifters are ideal
for road and street circuits where you're constantly going up and down the
gears. The overall design seems much more reliable with the elimination of
the toggle switch in the console shifter and the push buttons on the wheel.
I've never used the ECCI, but I've heard good things about it, particularly
the new $1200 version, but I can't possibly justify spending that kind of
money on a wheel.

Why don't you go do a DejaNews search and see for yourself before
accusing me of something ***. I have tried the TSW, put a couple
of hundred laps on one, so shut your trap.
Again, get your facts straight first.
Uhh, whatever. I would say you are the loser here. I am sure you
have a TSW, and you probably have never touched an ECCI. How about
doing us all a favor, and keep to yourself.

I own a retail computer business and have personally used the T-1,
T-2, TSW and the ECCI. I own the ECCI. The main difference inthe TSW
and the ECCI is as follows:
1: The TSW has a seperate stick shifter, The ECCI has buttons on the
wheel. Personal preference directs your chioce. The ECCI seems more
suited to Road course stuff and the TSW to regular hit and shift type.
2: The TSW is 270 degrees of steering throw, The ECCI is 180 degrees
This means that the ECCI is slightly more sensitive but adjusting the
steering lock makes this a mute point.
3. The TSW uses a clamp to LOCK it down onto your desk, the ECCI is
desgned such that one is not needed. If you need to move your wheel
often this could be important.
4 The ECCI has a beautiful steering wheel, Polished aluminium case,
swede leather wrapped wheel and looks tough. Small point but thats
what we're doing here!!
5 The tension of the steering wheel on the ECCI is very light and
smooth. I can turn the wheel from lock to lock with my finger RESTING
on top of the wheel. The TSW has a heavier feel and not easy to turn.
6 The ECCI has a REVERSE button as well as the shifter buttons, the
TSW has only 2 buttons on the wheel. ( the new GP1 style TSW is now
different so keep this in mind.
7 The ECCI has the ability to seperate the gas and brake and put them
on seperate axis which is very useful in sim games such as GP2 and
situations where one will use the gas and brale simutinously.
8 The TSW cost less around $300 the ECCI costs more close to $600
Keep in mind that the differnet models are changing rapidly and this
comparison may be out of date as we speak.
MY OPINION: If you have the extra money buy the ECCI. If cost is a
factor, buy the TSW as it is also a fine product. Both have excellant
support as far a have been concerned. I hope this has helped!

Sounds like you haven't used the latest version of either wheel. I
will help you out with some added comments.
All the new ECCI models have adjustable wheel tension. You can go
from 42lb to 118lb in about 2 minutes. Five different combinations
are possible.
Four buttons on the ECCI to do whatever you want with them. I use two
for shifting, one for reverse, and the other I turned into a makeshift
pit speed limiter.

Jim,
This is a good post. It sounds like Higgy got a raw deal, but I'm sure TSW
supports their product well. I also own an ECCI CDS and could not be
happier with it. I have had it for over a year now and it drives exactly
the same as the day I dusted off the styrafoam peanuts and plugged it in,
and outside of work(and golf!), I don't do much else but practice for
leagues and modem races. I have probably averaged 14-16 hours per week
practicing since I got my ECC(June 96). I have used it for GP2, Nascar1 &
2, and ICR2. I also know that my friend and teammate Shawn Wise has tried
both wheels and prefers the TSW. If price is a big concern, I would concur
that the TSW is the better choice. It is hard justifying the cost of a
$549 wheel and pedal set, but the ECC is a fantastic product built like a
brick outhouse, and you won't regret getting it. Either way it sounds like
the real winner is the buyer!

Thanks a lot for the support you and others are showing for me and the
TSW, it is much apreciated!
You are right, Wise was the *** who flamed the TSW without reason or
ever using one, I emailed him and was polite until he gave me a ration of
shit for no good reason. I purposely emailed him so as not to have it
public in order to see if it could be worked out, obviously this***head

participate in flame wars because it is stupid and pointless but this time
I am going to because I'm tired of the bullshit.
There is absolutely no reason to compare the TSW with the CDS, they are
two different products with completely different philosophies behind them,
the CDS is for those with a lot of money and the TSW is for people who
want a good solid product for less, either one will do the job it is made
for but neither is "better" than the other. I doubt that many races are
won because a wheel looks good and I dont spend a lot of time admiring the
looks of my TSW while using it.
There are close to 2000 happy individuals with TSWs and we get 2/4 orders
everyday, so we must be doing something right :)!

'better' is a matter of opinion. Everyone has an opinion. People
come to this group to get other people's opinions. When someone asks
which wheel is 'better', CDS owners give their opinion, as well as TSW
owners. As for no reason to compare, well, that is just silly.
The reason this thread was started was because a couple of guys
haven't gotten their wheels that they ordered months ago. Are you
shipping out 2/4 orders everyday? If not, then you must be doing
something wrong :)!
I would have to agree with Jay. I didn't see anything derogitory from
Shawn in regards to Trevor or his wheel. I believe that was meant for
Berg. Personally I liked Trevors wheel but when he told me it would be
at least 2-3 months I opted for the ECCI. I'm sure Mr Thomas will live
without my money. As for the ECCI, i got it in less than a week and am
very happy with it.

That's why I was so pissed. I was told in a e-mail sunday 5-25 and 5-26

owned one for about three years now and "repair" is never something that
has needed consideration - it will last longer than my house will. When I
have discussed updates, suggestions or even criticisms of some aspect of
the TSW or the business, I've found Trevor to be open, honest and genuinely
wanting to help.
We had an incident here in the UK where a footballer player attacked a fan
during a game - the fan was shouting racist abuse at him as he was leaving
the field. The player was of course slain by the media, "He should set an
example" etc. Why? Just because someone is in the public eye doesn't give
people the right to throw abuse at them. Some may justifiably call Trevor's
response into question, but the other half of the argument have to be
chastised in the same manner.
Anyway, all morals aside I hope you don't close yourself off to the
delights of a TSW, you really would be missing out. I am one of the few who
HAS tried many of the wheels available, including the ECCI-CDS which I
liked a lot. If you feel any qualms about paying the high price for the
ECCI, the TSW gives you all the quality for much less money. All you lose
is the looks - the ECCI-CDS is prettier, although I have heard it described
as "a huge tin of baked beans"! Mark Fraser hold your hand up...!! :-)

John,
Thanks for the reply. The product is not the issue here. I have used the
TSW and liked it. Many of my friends own the TSW and, for the most part,
have nothing bad to say about it.
Cheers!
