Hey everybody,
Just a light hearted post to break the tension among you racers..
I've been practicing my heart out at Imola, one of my 'home' tracks,
along with Magny Cours, and it seems like I was getting nowhere.
GP2 is a challenging game to say the least, and you figure after
playing it for several, several months that you'd at least qualify in
the top ten on a regular basis. I've got it set on 'amateur' (I've
owned it for about 6 months) and I was hitting 1:27 or so as my best.
Pretty sad. I could'nt figure out how to improve my times. That's
after downloading the setup and watching some crazy guy hit a 1:19 on
the replay.
So, as I said before, I hooked up my home speakers and amp and cranked
up the new and improved sound, right in my face. This helped me guage
the gears a lot better, etc.. This and practicing this course about a
million times more.
Well, this weekend I ran consistent 1:25's, with a 1:25.09 being the
best. This eventually qualified me on Pole position!
After hard work comes progress, right when you think it's all over.
So to all of you that think this time is super slow compared to yours,
I don't care, I'm just very happy that I can see a change.
Imagine how cool it would be to do this in real life!
See you at the track,

Well done on your pole postion Raevyn. I'm not so much a GP2
racing chap myself but more in Nascar stockcars of Nascar 2
but I can relate to finally doing a top time or pole position
after hours of practise.
Good on Ya!

Congrats on the pole!!.
It's nice to read once in a while something other than cying about this
patch and that patch and this framerate and that framerate and this game
sucks and that game sucks and this guys an *** and that guys an
*** and this bug and that bug and this AI and that AI and this and
that and that and this too.
Love,
Mike Lewis
I wish I knew that feeling in N2. I try and try round the Glen to get a
pole time, and although I slaughter all the cars in the race, I can't do
a decent qual time. I think I crack under pressure ;)
